Data Protection

DrinkStar attaches the great importance to the protection of personal data. As a general rule, you can visit the DrinkStar website without providing any personal data. In order to use some special services that are offered, however, it is necessary to collect personal data. If personal data are saved and used to properly carry out the services offered and for statistical purposes, this is carried out according to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (Datenschutz-Grundverordnung - DSGVO) of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz - BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (Telemediagesetz - TMG). To the extent to which and for which purposes user data are collected, saved and used on the DrinkStar website is explained below.

1. Non-personal (anonymous) data
When visiting the DrinkStar website (as well as other websites), non-personal data are automatically saved in log files. These data include information on your anonymised IP address, the browser you have used, the operating system used on your computer, the pages of the DrinkStar website visited, the date and time of your visit and the domain name of the website you last visited.

These data are saved and processed solely for statistical purposes in order to make the DrinkStar website more interesting and user-friendlier. The data do not allow any conclusions to be drawn on the identity of the respective visitor and are not disclosed to third parties.

2. Personal data
Personal data are collected, saved and processed on the DrinkStar website only where required for the use and proper implementation of the special services offered (such as email inquiries). These might be for identification purposes, for example. The data collected in this connection might include, among other things, the surname, first name, sex, address, phone number and e-mail address. Your personal data will be saved only if you have given these to us voluntarily. If you decide not to provide certain data, this might result in your not being able to use the special services offered on the DrinkStar website or only being able to use these to a limited extent.

Your data will be collected and used only for the proper implementation of the service used by you and for the statistical purposes of DrinkStar. Beside this your personal data will not be used by or passed on to third parties otherwise, unless you have given us your express consent to do so. You may revoke your consent to save and use your personal data with effect for the future at any time and without giving reasons. The revocation must be given in writing. Your personal data will then be deleted immediately.

3. Children/Youths
The data protection guaranteed on the DrinkStar website naturally also applies to the personal data of children and youths. However, DrinkStar advises that persons under 18 years of age only provide personal data with the approval of their parents or guardians.

4. Data security
Personal and non-personal (anonymous) data collected on the DrinkStar website will be saved separately so that no conclusions can be drawn or connections made between these data. The data are saved so that they are protected against accidental or intentional manipulations, loss and destruction. Only authorised persons can access the data provided these have been entrusted with the technical or editorial maintenance of the data.

5. Cookies
Cookies are small text files with configuration information that are saved on the computer of the visitor of the respective website. Among other things, cookies serve to present to the visitor a range of information coordinated to cater for his or her user behaviour if he or she visits this website again at some later stage. You can set your Internet browser so that it either automatically accepts all the cookies, automatically rejects all the cookies or asks you whether you wish to accept or reject each cookie.

6. Server log files When visiting our website, we automatically process information that your browser transmits to us on our systems for security and technical reasons. In server log files, the website provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically sends to us.

This information is:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the website that referred to our website)
  • Host name and full IP address of the accessing computer
  • Date and time of the server request
  • The URL retrieved on our systems (website)

There is no merger of this data with other data sources, and we do not make personalized statistical evaluations based on that data. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO, which allows the processing of data to fulfill a contract or pre-contractual measures.
If we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or can contact you, you will always be asked explicitly. The data is used to perform a desired transaction. This may, for example, be the subscription to a newsletter or a company magazine.

7. Statistical evaluations with Matomo
This website uses Matomo, an open source software for the statistical evaluation of visitor accesses. Matomo uses what are known as cookies, which are small text files that are saved on your computer and allow your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website is saved on the provider’s server in Germany. The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before being saved. You can prevent the installation of cookies by making an appropriate setting in your browser software; however, we point out that in this case you might not be able to fully use all the functions of this website.
